Background

I was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona in the United States. At Northern Arizona University I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and then spent three years at the University of Vienna completing my Master’s in Botany, specializing in Evolutionary Genomics under the supervision of the late Dr. Christian Lexer. My project investigated the drivers of the adaptive radiation events in the bromeliad genus Tillandsia.

Research interests

Currently I am investigating the developmental switch from unicellularity to multicellularity in, and exploring the genomic processes within the Pseudomonas fluorescens genome.
